It’s a Light Painting Night!

Oooo it’s a lark in the dark at Hedon Viewfinders’ Light Painting Night on Wed 9 November…

Always a popular night, we’ll meet up at the Haven Arms on Wednesday 9 November at 7pm for an indoor and outdoor (if weather permits) light painting session.

By moving the light, or by moving the camera, the aim will be to produce some very creative images. We’ll be working in low light conditions so bring your tripods (we’ll have some to lend) and torches to see what you are doing.

We’ll discuss your camera settings so everyone can get the most out of this session.

Wednesday 9 November 2022 at the Haven Arms, Havenside, Hedon HU12 8HH at 7pm.

Halloween Night at Hedon Viewfinders – Wed 2 Nov 2022

Hedon Viewfinders popular Halloween Night at the Haven Arms….

IT’S BACK! With characters in fancy dress, dry ice, smoke, and other spooky effects, it’s sure to be one of our busiest nights at Hedon Viewfinders!

It takes place at 7pm on Wednesday 2 November at the Haven Arms, so don’t put away those Halloween decorations from Monday (actual Halloween), but bring them along on Wednesday to add to the photographic fun!

With opportunities for portrait shots and capturing the spooky atmosphere, it will be photographic heaven for photographers….. in a Halloweenish style!

New to photography? This will be a great event to give your camera/phone a workout and even get some advice on using it!

All are welcome at this different kind of photography event. Come as a photographer, a participant in fancy dress, or a spectator.

Abstract

Abstract photography consists of images created using photography materials and equipment that don’t have an immediate association with the physical world. Abstract photographers use perspective, movement, and light to transform the world we see into an unexpected, often unrecognisable image.

“Abstract photography is not representational. It might explore the texture or detail of everyday objects or make you think of something else…”

Task 39: Create your own rainbow colours…

Task 39 Create a rainbow… from a CD/DVD.

Simply hold up a CD/DVD into any light (window, torch, lamp, etc). Capture a photo of the rainbow effect. Once you have got the basics – how creative can you be, how else might you affect that light and reflection you see?

This challenge is similar to the ones that we are going to set for people tonight live at our Facebook meeting. Do apply to join our page and take part!
