HEDON Viewfinders have POSTPONED the trip across the Humber Bridge to Waters’ Edge at Barton-upon-Humber. We will re-schedule the visit and let members know.
One of our members describes a visit to Waters’ Edge:
“Several ponds, all accessible by a network of interesting footpaths, small woods, wild flowers, birds, etc. A 15min walk along the Humber Bank from Waters’ Edge will take you to Far Ings Nature Reserve, with more ponds and several bird hides. Barton Haven with a small boat yard, moored boats and an old barge. The Humber Bridge which you can walk under and looks quite spectacular from underneath. To finish there is The Sloop Inn close by for a night cap.”
Directions: From the north (and please consider car-sharing and offering lifts to those from the club without transport) – take the first exit after the Humber Bridge (A15), signposted Barton upon Humber. Brown signs will direct you through the town to Waters’ Edge. The country park is at the very end of Maltkiln Road and there is a large free car park immediately to the left as you enter the park. If you are using a satnav, enter the postcode DN18 5JR into your device to navigate your way to Waters’ Edge.
