HEDON VIEWFINDERS July Programme:

Hedon Viewfinders is a Out & About photo club and we seek to provide opportunities for people to enjoy social photography in the company of other enthusiasts. For summer July 2018 we are organising a series of field trips (weather permitting) and invite you to join us in these photography opportunities.

TUESDAY 3 JULY we are meeting at EAST PARK which, with 130 acres of parkland, is Hull’s biggest park! It’s a Grade II listed park with up-to-date facilities, but also some historic treasures, lakes and gardens. We aim to meet in time for a prompt start at 7PM at the Holderness Road main gates.

The park is advertised as open until dusk but we’re going to give ourselves until 8:30pm. Think of it as a taster session; if you’ve not visited the park for some time – we’re sure you’ll become a regular visitor with your camera.

As always, opportunities to talk cameras, settings and all things ‘photography’ at our free, fun and friendly club outings.

Our Summer Programme for JULY (all provisional, subject to weather, and further details on each to follow):

  • Sat 7 July – Hedon Festival (the town’s busiest day of the year) – From mid-morning to midnight. #Hedfest18 includes a carnival parade and opportunities for event, street and gig photography.

Photo Walk around ancient Hedon – Sun 27 May 2018

Hedon Viewfinders Photography Club is hosting a Photowalk around the ancient town on Sunday, May 27 2018 meeting outside the Haven Arms on Havenside at 1pm.

North Cave WetlandsPeople with an interest in photography from across Hull and Holderness are invited and the Viewfinders will show some of the best spots in the town to take photos that represent both the historical and rural aspects of the place.

Easy going stroll across both trails and pavements (but take heed of the weather and wear appropriate footwear in case trails are muddy). The circular route will finish at the Haven Arms about 3pm’ish.

Members of the club attended a photowalk around Hull City Centre arranged by the Hull Creative Photography group, and the Hedon walk is a reciprocal visit.

Hedon Viewfinders is the town’s free, fun and friendly photography club that is open to all (no membership required). All welcome!

We hope you’ll join us for refreshments and a social chat afterwards.

Please do let us know if you intend to come.

Announcement: Some of you may have heard by now of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) coming into effect May 25, 2018 – basically, in order to continue to receive updates from the Viewfinders website, subscribers have to give their permission again. In my case this coincides with me ceasing to use my current web host and using a free service instead. This means the current website at http://www.viewfinders-ttl.online will change, to be replaced by a much simpler version (this one!). With the launch of the new website, I will email out to our 100 or so subscribers and ask them to renew their interest once again. Hope to get all this in place by Fri 25th. Sorry for any inconvenience. – Ray Duffill.
