It’s RED WEEK with Hedon Viewfinders.

IT’S RED WEEK in a week that looks like it is going to be red hot for our holiday next weekend – and check out about our red hot speakers on the next two Wednesdays…

WEEK 24
IT’S RED WEEK

Whether it is an image dominated by Red, or just a subtle but important hint of the colour, your challenge this week is to celebrate Redness! Of course, there are various shades of red, in fact, every hue and saturation imaginable between black and white; so you have lots to work with. Red is also an important mood colour representing different things in different cultures.
Your challenge – explore all things red in your photos!

Don’t forget to use the hashtags on social media:
#ViewfindersChallenge #ViewfindersChallengeWeek24

As ever, these challenges are to encourage new photography, so we ask you not to simply re-use your existing stock.

And do please send in your images associated with these challenges – or your other activities as a Club Member. We will publish them on these pages. E-mail them to viewfinders-ttl@gmx.co.uk or rlduffill@gmail.com.

Club News – Choose a topic and Bridlington Weekend!

CHOOSE a topic for a Club Talk – Mike Covell is back speaking at Hedon Viewfinders!

MIKE COVELL, historian, tour guide and expert on the darker side of local history, last spoke to Hedon Viewfinders in October 2019 on the grizzly murder of local girl Mary Jane Langley in Preston in 1891. It was a very different night for the photography club which appealed to and attracted a far wider audience. Prior to that, Mike has also hosted an amazing photo walk around Hull City Centre for Viewfinders.

Well, he’s back! And we have a choice of three subjects to choose from for his topic at a future meeting.

  1. Witchcraft in Yorkshire
  2. East Yorkshire Defences in World Wars 1 and 2
  3. East Yorkshire Ghosts

Each subject has an interest factor for photographers with photography being one of the documentary mediums used to report and record the subject matter. But again each subject has the potential to attract a non-photographer audience too.

Do let us know in the comments which subject you would prefer – or take part in the poll on the Hedon Viewfinders Facebook group: Viewfinders – Through the Lens (Members).
