Depth of Field and ‘Bokeh’ – Hedon Viewfinders – Wed 7 August 2019 – Haven Arms, Havenside, Hedon, HU12 8HH at 7pm.
The basics of creative photography revolve around understanding aperture, shutter speed and ISO (how sensitive your camera sensor is to light) and how these interact with each other.
At this meeting the practical session will concentrate on ‘depth of field’ particularly how the aperture (the f stop) determines which parts of your image you want in focus or not. This in turn is affected by the distance you are from your main subject and the background, and the lens/camera you are using.
We’ll also be looking at bokeh which is a Japanese term used in photography to explain the artistic effect of the blur or out of focus elements in an image.
Also at the meeting we have a short business session including a finance update.
Available at the meeting will be some giveaways for members which have been donated. We’ll also have a selection of the club’s vast photography magazine and books collection (also donated) to browse, borrow or loan. Please bring your own photography books and magazines if you want to recycle them via the club.
In addition we’ll have a sale of items. If you want to bring your own items to privately sell, swap with others present – then please do so.
Raffle/Tombola to be held. Any donations of prizes most welcome.
