Understanding ISO – Hedon Viewfinders 16 Feb 2022

When shooting in trickier light conditions, you may need to raise the ISO. What does this mean? How dous it affect the other camera settings?

NEXT MEETING WED 16 FEB 2022: Understanding ISO – (with a bit of White Balance thrown in!) – continuing our look at the camera settings that make up the exposure triangle, this week we look at ISO.

HAVEN ARMS, HAVENSIDE, HEDON, HU12 8HH. 7pm start.

The ability to adjust your camera’s sensitivity, its ISO, is one of the great advantages of digital photography. You can change the ISO for every single shot you take with ease. Changing your ISO setting means that you can use the camera to suit the situation you are shooting in. Doing so will help you to end up with an image that’s appropriately exposed.

For the Quiz and General Knowledge geeks: Yes, “ISO” is a word as well as an acronym for the International Standards Organisation.

We are meeting at the Hedon Museum from 7pm – 8pm. This is a chance to have a look around the Museum and also to see Ray’s mini-exhibition. There are two other interesting displays too; Artist John Parks has a collection of flower paintings on display, and Wood Turner Morley Richards has a fascinating collection of items made on his lathe.

The Museum is a voluntary enterprise relying on grants and donations for its existence, so we will hold a collection on the night towards its funds – suggest a £2 minimum donation.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available!

EGG CHALLENGE!

As an extra for the meeting, we are issuing an EGG CHALLENGE. Bring your best print of an Egg (a 6×4 or 5×7 will do) and we’ll have an appropriate prize for the one chosen by us all as the winner!
