WEEK 21
MAKE A SPLASH – WATER DROPS ACTION!
Take a close up photo of a drop splashing into the water. It’s an old photography project but lots to learn every time you do it. The important thing is to get a regular dripping action so that you can time your shots with more accuracy. You’ll have lots of misses – but when you get a hit, you’ll love it!

The set-up here is something you can do at home by fixing a food bag or similar high up filled with water and putting a small pinprick hole in it. Use a tray full of water to catch your drops. Use your camera on a tripod and manually focus at the point where the splash occurs.

The use of a flash can help capture the action. Put some coloured paper or a bright background behind the tray so that the colour reflects in the water. And time your shots to catch the collision!

As ever, these challenges are to encourage new photography, so we ask you not to simply re-use your existing stock (unless necessary for the particular challenge).
